The article examines the problems of higher education development. The factors influencing the quality of graduate training, their competitiveness and demand in the labor market are studied. In this regard, issues of ensuring sustainable and effective development of the educational system in connection with demographic and economic changes become relevant. The aim of the study is to conduct an analysis and determine effective guidelines for the development of higher education in the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. The research methodology is based on modern approaches and theoretical and analytical methods that allow us to identify “bottlenecks” in the further development of higher education.
