Abstract
The article provides a systematic review of transversal competencies for the employment of university graduates from the point of view of the employer, taking into account the importance of the topic in an interethnic context. The above analysis focused on the characteristics of employers and organizations, methods and tools for assessing transversal competencies and the most highly valued competencies at the international level. One of the main contributions is the creation of a classification consisting of many cross-cutting competencies grouped according to five dimensions. The results show that employers placed more value on competencies related to basic job-related skills (JRB), social relationship skills (SR), and selfmanagement skills (SM). Higher education institutions should include an "employment pedagogy" that will strengthen the link between the academic environment and socio-professional reality and ensure an adequate transition of graduates into the world of work.
